    Benny Baca, age 61, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, N.M. passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at his home.

    He was born in Sapello, N.M., on July 22, 1946, to the late Benjamin Baca and Vicentita Silva Baca.

    He was a loving and proud grandfather.

    A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of the Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

    He was preceded in death by his parents: Benjamin and Vicentita Baca; niece: Annabelle Baca; nephews: Edward Baca and Andres Baca.

  • Joe O. Armijo

    Joe O. Armijo. age 76, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, after injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

    He was born in Albuquerque, on April 13, 1931, to Maria Mercedes Lujan.

    He was united in marriage to Leona Anne Graves Armijo on February 1954, they were married for 49 years before she passed away on Feb. 5, 2004.

  • Inie Ruth Johnson

    Inie Ruth Johnson, 97, of Reva, S.D., and formerly of Las Vegas N.M., died Nov. 22nd 2007 in Spearfish, S.D.

    The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Slim Buttes Lutheran Church, rural Reva South Dakota.

    Arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, S.D.

    Inie Ruth Wilbanks was born Jan. 6, 1910, in Marysville, Cooke County, Texas.

    Fred Pino, 66, a former resident of Las Vegas, passed away in Buckeye, Ariz. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Seferino and Lora Sandoval Pino and two brothers, Delfino and Mike Pino. He is survived by two daughters, Elaine Talamantes and husband Manuel of Cactus, Texas and Shirley Pino of Ft. Lupton, Colo.; two sons, Frederick Pino and wife Jeannie of Eden, Ariz.

    Eugene T. Martin, age 75, a resident of Holman, N.M., passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at the Alta Vista Hospital in Las Vegas, N.M.

    He was born on Aug. 19, 1932, to the late Leah Helen Goodell Martin.

    He served in the Military during the Korean War. He was a self-employed writer and a good neighbor and will be greatly missed.

    He is survived by his niece: Maureen Waite and husband James of Boulder Creek, Calif.; friends: Ricky Lucero and wife Rosie; Loretta Lucero; Victoria Lucero all of Holman, N.M.; caretaker: Gloria Gallegos of Mora, N.M.

  • Fred Pino

    The mass for Fred Pino will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, N.M.

  • Louis A. Romero

    Louis A. Romero, age 71, a resident of Las Vegas, N.M., for the past 14 years and formerly of California and Mora County passed away on Monday Nov. 19, 2007, at his home after an extended illness.

    He was born in Terrero, N.M. on June 11, 1936, to the late Samuel Romero and Adelaida Sanchez Romero and was united in marriage to Emily Vigil.

    He served with the Polar Bear Unit in the United States Army. He was stationed in Greenland during the Cold War and was later stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado. He was awarded the Marksman (Rifle M-1) and the Marksman (Carbine).

  • Joseph T. Sanchez

    The Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph T. Sanchez, 69, a resident of Las Vegas and who passed away on Friday, was celebrated today at noon from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Father C. John Brasher celebrated the Mass. Cremation followed the services and the interment will be at a later date in the San Jose Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers were Pablo Sanchez, Paul Sanchez, Kelly Beltran, Marcus Sanchez, Victor Ortiz, and Donald Sanchez.

  • Jerry J. Xavier Quintana

    Jerry J. Xavier Quintana, age 26, lifetime resident of Pecos, N.M. passed away on Saturday Nov. 17, 2007 following a sudden unexpected illness.

    He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., on Oct.25, 1981, to Louie B. Quintana and Lupita Rodriguez Quintana.
