  • Adelia M. Flores

    Adelia M. Flores, age 91, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away on Tuesday, Feb.12, 2008, at her home following a sudden illness.

    She was born in Las Vegas, N.M., on Dec. 16, 1916, to the late Tranquelino Esquibel and Euphemia Montoya Esquibel.

    She was united in marriage in Las Vegas, N.M., in 1934, to the late William Flores Sr.

    She was a Gold Star Mother, due to the loss of her son, Jerry Flores, in the Vietnam War on March 6, 1971. She as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, mother-in-law and aunt.

  • Jose Arsenio Ortiz

    Jose Arsenio Ortiz, age 54 and lifelong resident of Ilfeld, N.M., passed away in a sudden accident on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008.

    A rosary will be recited Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at 7 p.m. from Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in south San Isidro, N.M. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m., Saturday Feb. 16, 2008, at the same church in south San Isidro, N.M.

  • Erminio Padilla

    Erminio Padilla, age 60, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called to be with the Lord, Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 11 at San Miguel Church in Rivera, N.M. Interment will follow at San Juan Community Cemetery in San Juan, N.M.   • Eva R. Martinez

    Eva R. Martinez, age 72, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at her home following a brief illness.

    She was born in Gascon, N.M., on Nov. 19, 1935, to the late Jose Rodarte and Susana Baroz Rodarte.

    She was united in marriage to the late Daniel Martinez.

    She was a care-giver to many of her family members & friends.

    A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of the Our Lady of Sorrow Church in Las Vegas, N.M., and also a volunteer at the Our Lady of Sorrow Parish Hall.

  • M. Donald Whorton

    M. Donald Whorton, an internationally recognized occupational health physician and workplace epidemiologist, died on Jan. 27, 2008 at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley, Cal., from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Whorton was 65 years old.

  • Ramon J. Lucero

    Ramon J. Lucero, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, after a long illness.

    He is survived by his two sons, Orlando Lucero and Albert Lucero and wife, Loretta, all of Albuquerque; former wife and close friend, Elena E. Lucero of Albuquerque; sister, Ignacita Lucero of Pueblo, Colo.; brother, Arturo A. Lucero of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout New Mexico and Colorado.

    Ramon was preceded in death by his sister, Florentina Montao; and his parents Jose S. and Carlota Lucero.

  • Erminio Padilla

    Erminio Padilla, 60, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called to be with the Lord, Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008. He was born in San Juan, N.M., and was a resident of Albuquerque. He served his country in the United States Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post #69, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

  • Gloria P. Angel

    Gloria P. Angel, 62, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008.

    She was born in Las Vegas, N.M. on June 9, 1945.

    She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Angel of Las Vegas, N.M., son Sam Angel and wife JAnne Angel, Grandson Diego Angel, Granddaughters Samantha and BreAnne, all of Santa Fe.

  • Alice Ramona Lucero

    Alice Ramona Lucero went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 8, 2008, at the age of 79. She was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to Patricio and Victoria Lucero. To her aunt and uncle she was known as Raymie. She is survived by her daughter Gloria A. Lucero, son Gilbert Lucero, brother-in-law Willie Archuleta, nephew Robert Richard Lucero (who was like her own son) along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and her family in Las Vegas, N.M. and in the Albuquerque area and surrounding states. She will be missed by all.

  • Corine H. Lucero

    The mass of resurrection for Corine H. Lucero, of Las Vegas, N.M., and a former resident of El Carmen, N.M. was celebrated this morning at the St. Gertrude’s Church in Mora, N.M., with Father James Sanchez as celebrant.

    Interment followed at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M. with the following serving as casket bearers: Alvin Aragon, Roger Gonzales, Robert Martinez, Jason Barela, Darrell Herrera and Floyd Lovato. Serving as honorary bearers were: Rudy Romero and James Trujillo.
