Tuesday night hoops: Loss puts Cowboy playoff hopes in jeopardy

The Highlands Cowboys' hopes of reaching the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's basketball playoffs took a hard hit Tuesday night in a 100-89 loss to visiting Western State (Colo.).

Highlands and WSC entered the game tied for the eighth and final spot in the postseason tournament, but the Mountaineers now enjoy a one-game edge with only one game left in the regular season. That makes Saturday's home finale vs. Colorado Mesa a must-win for the Cowboys (14-13, 9-12) and coach Craig Snow.
