West Las Vegas sophomore Miguel Coca finished among the top seven in each of the three boys’ distance races at the Class 4A state track and field championships earlier this month. He hopes to lead the Dons to title contention in cross country and track in the 2016-17 school year.

Miguel Coca, a West Las Vegas sophomore this past year, admits to occasionally daydreaming about still being teammates with older brother Moises.

“We’d be a good team,” he said. “We’re pretty good now, but with him still with us, we’d be tough.”

Moises was a distance running standout for West in recent years. Before he graduated, the two brothers briefly shared time on the school’s cross country and track teams.
