Board at odds over gym

Out with the old or in with the new? That is the question that plagues the West Las Vegas School board regarding its middle school gymnasium.

During a heated discussion last week, board members exchanged verbal jabs about whether to demolish and rebuild the middle school gym or to keep the existing facility the was constructed in 1963. The cost of the project is roughly $10 million, with the district’s portion of approximately $1.8 million.
