It might be cold and snowy (in very late February) as I write this, but the world continues to turn same as ever, and I am delighted to have some really good news in the mix of this month.

Dust off the ice skates, folks! Councilman Joey Herrera has a working plan, a working group of area residents who are moving full steam ahead to refurbish the long abandoned skating pond at Montezuma once again. Herrera’s enthusiasm is contagious and I had a fun visit with him and Jesus Lopez on “Over the Back Fence” radio program on KFUN recently.

TODAY HOY

In the span of the week I get a call from an acquaintance from long ago, and a call from my daughter. Their requests were similar. They wanted some recipes of different kinds,  recipes that probably  aren’t in print or on the internet now.

Sherry wants some old recipes that her grandmother had written down in a three-ring binder long ago. She plans to develop a family-style cookbook for my granddaughter who will soon be a newlywed.
