    Trash Pickup — Closed Saturday and Monday, only commercial routes will be picked up, Monday’s normal route will take place on Tuesday; Tuesday’s normal route will be picked up on Wednesday, and Wednesday’s normal route will take place on Thursday.

  • Thursday, June 16, 1966 — There will be a different sound to the telephone dial tone in Las Vegas Friday, L.G. Eubanks, manager here for Mountain States Telephone, announced today. The tone will be changed to a lower pitch and is necessary for the inauguration of touchtone dialing. Beginning with touch-tone service all Las Vegas customers using this new telephone must use all seven digits of the telephone number they are calling.
