    Our Lady of Sorrows Church will be the site of a special concert scheduled at 6 p.m. on Friday, as present-day musicians strive to help preserve one of the community’s historic musical treasurers. The fundraiser (for restoration of the 1885 Kilgen pipe organ at Our Lady of Sorrows Church) will draw on the talents of University of New Mexico Chamber Singers and Orchestra for a special performance with James Yeager serving as organist, and Kristin Ditlow directing.

The sale includes annual and perennial garden plants, tomatoes, and herbs. The sale takes place Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and if plants are still available Saturday.

    The Tri-County Farmers’ Market is returning to the Immaculate Conception parking lot on Sixth and University on Saturday, May 6. The market opens at 8 a.m. The selection includes: salad greens, kale, chard, quelites, radishes, chives, leeks, onions, snow peas, piñon, registered Irish Dexter dairy, eggs, bread, USDA inspected beef and pork, pain rub, lotion, soap, hand made rugs. Plant starts are now available - tomatoes, chile plants broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, lettuce, strawberries, and more.

    PNM will host an assistance fair to help Las Vegas area residents in need to pay their electric bills and get helpful money saving information from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, at the Salvation Army in Las Vegas.
