  • The Rough Riders Cowboys’ Reunion program has sparked a lot of interest with my family and friends who come to visit here at the ranch. My last column was about the rodeo events and a description of the colorful brochure sent to me by long- time friends who now live in the Dallas area. I am so glad this place of our Las Vegas history wasn’t thrown away long ago. It is the August 1954 program and two pages contain a listing of contributors who made this big event possible.

    United World College-USA students from the Middle East and India will present a free cultural show at 7:30 p.m. in Kluge Auditorium on the Montezuma campus. Through songs, dances and skits, the students will share their region’s culture and heritage. For more information, call 426-3373.

    Highlands University

    Seven of Highlands University’s top music students will perform in a recital at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the Kennedy Alumni Hall, 905 University Ave.

    The program for the Thomas Mishler Scholarship Recital includes a variety of musical selections, from Chopin to Schubert, Mozart and Mendelssohn.

    Music faculty Andre García-Nuthmann, Linda King and Ashlyn Harrington will be the piano accompanists for the vocalists.
