  • Long-time residents of this area are often the best weather watchers around. I just learned from a neighbor that we probably  will have a good snow-pack on our mountains this winter, because the now-blooming (in profusion, I might add) sunflowers are very tall this year.

    The sunflower plants along the roads here are taller than I am. We welcome every flake when it comes!
