    HOPE (Housing Opportunities Programs for Elders) will launch its transportation services for 55-and-older at the Senior Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. HOPE is a new non-profit organization to assist seniors to “age in their homes”.     The AAUW Fall Used Book Sale will take place at the Sala de Madrid, on the Highlands University campus, at the corner of Eighth and University, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Many types of books,as well as CDs and DVDs, will be available. All children’s books are free. Funds raised support educational activities and NMHU women’s scholarships.

    The 19th annual enchilada dinner to fund Mustard Seed grants to nonprofit groups in Las Vegas and the surrounding area will be held in the Flamingo Room at the Hillcrest Restaurant from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased from any member of the First United Presbyterian Church office (1000 Douglas Ave.), from Dr. Em Krall or at the door.     Our station number is 29-3488-02 and we record that 24-hour maximum and minimum temperatures, precipitation (time of day/night and amount) and whether we have experienced fog, ice pellets, glaze, thunder, hail, damaging winds, plus the time of these observations and snow depth in the winter.

  • Mora High School’s Class of 1977 recentlly held its 40th class reunion. It was a huge success after a year of planning.

    The class would like to thank Ben Bustos and American Legion “Pavilion” in Mora for use of its facility; Kendrick Martinez of Kenn’s Cuisine, LLC, of Mora for the awesome catering and Albert Bustamante of Las Vegas help with the music.
