    Santiago Valentin Aragon, a 2013 Robertson High School graduate, as been selected as the recipient of the 32nd annual Michael William Marr Memorial Scholarship. The Marr Scholarship has been awarded annually since the 1981-82 school year to a Robertson High School student athlete who excelled academically and participated in the football program.

    • The Guidance and Counseling Program of New Mexico Highlands University is offering free counseling services to the community this semester. The counseling is provided by graduate students in the final phase of their training in the profession of counseling. The counseling is confidential, free and supervised by a training professor of the program.   • Editor’s Note: In last week’s column the San Miguel/Mora County Fair princess Bailey Montoya’s father was inadvertently left out. Montoya’s father is Roy Montoya.

    Fifty years ago on Jan. 30, 1963 a B-52 bomber crashed in the mountains between Chacon and Guadalupita. The airmen were on a routine practice mission coming down low, when the high winds in the area tore the plane apart and scattered it over the mountains for six to eight miles.
