    ALBUQUERQUE — If you were, or know, a New Mexico Air National Guardsman stationed in Tuy Hoa, Vietnam, in 1968, Art Sena is looking for you. The reason goes back to a long-ago wish to make Christmas merrier for service personnel at war, and a long-lost box of film.


    • Elks Lodge on Collins Drive is hosting a free veterans appreciation breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

    • VFW Post 1547 will host a Veterans Day celebration at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at Veterans Park on Mills Avenue. All are welcome. Lunch will be held after the ceremony at the Post home on Mills Avenue.

  • Well, what do you know? I have a granddaughter who likes old things and family history. Yes, Jennifer flew in (she’s the helicopter pilot in this family) and joined our family for my 80th birthday party recently. The helicopter stayed in Albuquerque and she came to the ranch with her parents from Ruidoso.


    • One-day Vipassana meditation sitting with Doug Booth from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8. Sitting and walking meditation, instructions, dharma talk, group discussions.
