  • Last Monday was the first day for the reopening of the Cowboy Kitchen. It turned out to be a very busy day with people anxious to see the newly remodeled facility and meet the new owners. There were a few weeks of remodeling and planning. In the remodeled restaurant there is new pine paneling on the walls and a new coat of colorful paint. There are two new owners who have bought the business from Johnny and Phyllis Martinez and Gary Martinez, their son. Gary and his folks and the new owners were instrumental in remodeling the facility.

  • Anything medical catches my eye, and I discovered some small handouts that my doctor father kept in his office. These were brochures with a permit for immunization form on the back.

They are requesting all local businesses to fill out an afterhours contact form to better serve the community. Forms are available at the station and on the city’s website.

    • Free 2012 Tax Returns – federal and state — will be prepared for low- and middle-income taxpayers by Certified AARP Tax-Aide Volunteers. No complicated filings. Do not have to be retired or an AARP member to receive services. Seven days and evenings are scheduled at NM Highlands University, 903 Baca St. (at 9th Street) between Feb. 14 and April 14.
