  • The members of the LeDoux Volunteer Fire Department and residents of Le Doux, Monte Aplanado and El Carmen communities worked together to collect more than $300 and prepared eight Christmas baskets for the community members who are needy. Russell’s Discount Foods also donated money toward the food baskets.

  • Oh! Wow! Our own radio station, KFUN will be 70 years old Christmas Day. Happy Birthday wished for all of us who faithfully listen in this large broadcast area. I’m seven years older than KFUN but neither of us think we are old yet.

    Roasting has the power to transform just about any food, but this effortless cooking technique is most dramatic when applied to winter vegetables.

    This is one reason that I'm the person at the table who immediately looks at the side dishes (not dessert!) when I am handed a restaurant menu. If they have roasted vegetables, I have to order them.

    Like so many people, I use the start of the new year to assess my life and zero in on all the things I want to change. For 2012, I want to focus on being healthier, continue exercising, maintain a healthy weight, and spend more time with family and friends.
