  • On Saturday, after district games between Mora Rangers and Rangerettes and Santa Fe Prep the Mora Rangerettes with their coaches, families and friends got together to celebrate and honor teams of 1985, 1987, 1988, 1991 and 1992. Five banners in their honor were hung from the rafters of the gym. These five teams made it through the finals but came up short of the win of the state championship.

    Monday — Green chili chicken enchilada, pinto beans, calavacitas, spinach salad with dressing, crackers, and Jello with fruit
    Tuesday — Honey dijon chicken, asparagus with cheese sauce, salad with dressing, wheat roll with margarine, and lemon bar
    Wednesday — Fidellos con carne, salad with dressing, mixed vegetables, flour tortilla, and orange pineapple mix

  • ‘To know what you do know and not know what you do not know is true knowledge.” So said Confucius a very long time ago. This quote is on the cover of a very old and terribly worn cookbook that belonged to my grandmother, which she inherited from my mother.

    This is one of the oldest cookbooks I have in my big collection of cookbooks.

    The title reads, “Tested recipes compiled by Ladies of the congressional Church, Lancaster, Wis.” This is the second and revised edition and might have been published in the late 1800s.
