  • The Rincones Presbyterian Credit Union has started  teaching the kindergarten children in Holman about saving. The director, Teresita Vigil and supervisory committee member, Florence Trujillo are directing the program. Trujillo, a licensed teacher, goes to the classrooms once a month to teach the children about saving and helps them get started on their own.

    Last Friday Trujillo brought banks for each child. They are in the shape of colorful crayons and each child’s name is printed on his bank.

  • Well, I always thought every household owned a pressure cooker, and if you live above 8,000 feet, as I do, you automatically cook beans and so much more in a pressure cooker.

    Two different friends and neighbors have asked me about their new found art that they are so afraid of — that dangerous pressure cooker they have never used. Yes, it is still in its box, sadly.

    Luna Community College will be hosting a Holiday Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Rough Rider Grill (LCC Cafeteria.)

    The LCC Holiday Fair will feature vendors and is a great venue for last-minute shoppers. They will be selling a variety of items including handmade jewelry, baked goods, homemade arts and crafts, Christmas wreaths and ornaments, purses and homemade blankets.

    About 15 percent of all vendors will be Luna Community College students, staff and faculty.
