Today's Features

  • Newsworthy items pop up daily around here. With a good radio, two or three newspapers and a television, not much gets past us way up here in the mountains. Some of the news is exciting,  to say the least.

Our beloved, sleeping Castañeda is about to awaken once again! I have so many fond memories of long-ago times spent at that grand hotel. A trip to town from our Valmora home was always an event, particularly for sweet brother bill and I in the 1940’s.

  • The strong winds recently blew a barn down and scattered the parts all over. It is now just a pile of rubble as all of the pieces have been gathered up and put in a pile by some of the family.

They did not want the boards to destroy other property as they blew around in the strong winds.

    SENIOR LUNCH MENU

  • My 1910 Webster’s Dictionary defines weather as “a state of the atmosphere.” I’d have to say that at the moment, we are in  a heck of a state in this present atmosphere. We have experienced two of the driest months on record here at the Gascon reporting weather station, with no relief in sight.
