  • Time does fly when I’m having fun, and this winter has been no different. I am so inhibited to my faithful readers, and to my editors who catch my writing/spelling mistakes.

A very special Christmas card came from a long time friend here.

This greeting will be paid forward, for sure. And I just learned from Ron and Elaine Querry that Las Vegas will have a Cowboys’ Reunion Centennial Celebration July 31 to Aug. 9 this year. What welcome news to all of us rodeo fans, and you will read more about this soon.

    UPCOMING & ONGOING

  • The Mora and Pecos rivalry at its best was shown on the court during last Friday’s homecoming games at Mora High School. For me it was the cycle of history repeating itself once again.

Despite having a big rivalry on the floor, there are so many connections between the small northern New Mexico towns. For one, the main sport for both school districts, hence, the rivalry on the hardwood. Another connection is the number of people between the two towns that are related or good friends.

6 p.m. —  Mora Little League elections, Tapetes de Lana

  • My friends know how unorganized I am, but once in a while I actually discover something that was put where it belonged. This time, Yes—it does happen... I noticed some folders or something of that nature in a bookshelf totally devoted to children’s books. I must say I don’t get into that bookcase often now because I don’t have small children nearby, in my family now.
