    The Highlands University Madrigal Choir presents a concert, Music Here and Now in Ilfeld Auditorium, 900 University Ave. Some of the musical selections include Ron Strauss’ Adon Olam, and Bob Chilcott’s compositions Jazz Song of Innocence and Ophelia, Caliban and Miranda. Ticket prices are $5. Highlands University students with valid IDs are free along with other students with IDs.

    The City of Las Vegas and the Community Development department will host a singing competition. The competition will be held from 3:30 to 4 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 1700 North Grand Ave. The winner of the competition will sing the National Anthem at the opening ceremonies on June 30 in order to kick off the 2017 Fourth of July Fiestas. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to be a participant in the competition. For more information or questions, contact Community Development at 426-3271.

    United World College-USA Spring Concert will take place at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, in the Montezuma Castle Dining Hall. The free program at the international high school in Montezuma also will feature student soloists, Silk Road Ensemble and music improvisation, Latin and string ensembles.
