The schedule may have changed from one weekend to another but the fun and excitement won’t, as the 2012 Mora Fiesta promises to again be its usual good time for all who attend.

This year’s lineup includes a rodeo on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, the crowning of this year’s queen, a Saturday morning parade and more than a dozen performers and bands carrying the sounds of the fiesta through the weekend.

Recently, Theaterwork of Santa Fe presented the production “Where Angels Come to Sing: A Celebration of Mora Valley.”

This production was presented by Mora High School students who worked with David Olson and his staff for a year, gathering stories from the past and present. These are stories of people of the Mora Valley who have walked in this beautiful place for centuries and who walk here today and will walk in the years to come.

Old saying says: “if the shoe fits, wear it.” I just discovered a column that I wrote for the June 4, 1971 Las Vegas Livestock Journal. This was written for its “This Woman’s World” page and this is editor Brumbelow’s introduction for it:
