Alta Vista Hospital gets patient safety award

Submitted to the Optic

Alta Vista Regional Hospital has been recognized with the Outstanding Patient Safety Award from Community Health Systems, one of the nation’s leading systems of general acute-care hospitals.

The organization includes AVRH and more than 130 other hospitals in 29 states.

Presented at the organization’s Chief of Staff annual meeting, Nancy Wright, M.D., vice-chief of staff of Alta Vista Regional accepted the award on behalf of the hospital.

Fundraiser benefits opportunities for women

Chapter H is one of two P.E.O. chapters in Las Vegas, and among 71 chapters in New Mexico. P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College; and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations.

In support of these projects Chapter H is sponsoring the Great Garage Sale of 2011 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the First Baptist Church at 201 Mountain View Drive.
