Las Vegas National Wildlife Refuge, east of Las Vegas, will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Sunday in November the Traditional Annual Fall Flight Festival featuring a 4-1/2 mile self-guided auto drive. This tour allows visitors to enjoy the  spaciousness of the short-grass prairie in areas of the refuge that are not open for general public use the rest of the year.

Once again, Las Vegas First Independent Business Alliance is sponsoring the Cross the Bridge shopping promotion beginning Nov. 1 and running through Dec. 24. Everyone is invited to join in the effort to promote local shopping and to encourage a shift in shopping habits toward locally owned businesses.

A few years ago Mark Anthony was an Executive Chef for the largest hospital operating system in the country.
He was also at his largest weight of 305 pounds. As he looked around at the patients in the hospitals, he discovered one common element to most of their conditions; they were almost all there for cholesterol-related problems. He thought to himself, “I’d better do something or I’m going to end up being one of the people in this hospital.”
