The Las Vegas Youth Soccer League has kicked off its fall 2013 slate, which will run through Oct. 27.
This past weekend saw a full slate of scheduled matches cancelled due to the storm.
Approximately 300 youngsters age 4-12 are competing in 28 teams split among four age divisions. The LVYSL is run by volunteers, including a board led by presidents Shelby and Rachel Curtis.
This year the league is carrying a World Cup theme, with teams named for various countries. The FIFA men’s World Cup takes place in 2014.
The following are this coming weekend’s scheduled matches:
All U6 matches are played at 8:45 a.m. Saturdays at Commerce Street Park.
Peru vs. Chile, Field 1
Russia vs. Mexico, Field 2
USA vs. Italy, Field 3
Croatia vs. Greece, Field 4
All U8 matches are played at 9:30 a.m. Saturdays at Commerce Street Park.
Spain vs. Belgium, Field 1
Switzerland vs. Portugal, Field 2
Colombia vs. Germany, Field 3
England vs. France, Field 4
All U10 matches are played on Saturdays at Richard Padilla Park on Mountain View.
Mali vs. Denmark, 10:30 a.m., Field 1
Mora vs. Ghana, 10:30 a.m., Field 2
Ukraine vs. Ecuador, noon, Field 1
All U13 matches are played on Sundays at United World College in Montezuma.
