No doubt about it — West Las Vegas’ sister act of Jayme and Joedy Quintana are headed to the state golf tournament this coming spring.

The Quintana girls earned their tickets to state early, completing four individual qualifying legs this fall.

The Class 1A-3A state golf tournament will be held in May at the New Mexico Tech Golf Course in Socorro.

Joedy Quintana placed second at the Santa Fe Country Club on Oct. 8 with a score of 84 and also on Oct. 15 with a score of 86. Other state qualifying scores for Joedy include a 94 at Raton on Sept. 10 and an 89 at the Robertson High tournament held at NMHU’s Gene Torres Golf Course on Sept. 24.

Jayme Quintana placed first in all four tournaments with a score of 77 at Raton on Sept. 10, 81 at Robertson’s tournament on Sept. 24, 83 at Santa Fe High’s tournament held at SFCC on Oct. 8 and an 81 on Oct. 15 at the SFCC tournament hosted by Hobbs.

The Quintana sisters and teammate Louanna Valencia will resume the golf season in April in preparation for the state tournament.
