The Las Vegas City Council’s decision to terminate the city’s contract with the Las Vegas-San Miguel Chamber of Commerce was a wise move. Public confidence in the chamber’s ability to serve the local businesses has all but disappeared, so cutting off the public funds was a necessary move.
Now comes the formidable task of rebuilding. The city, after all, needs a chamber of commerce that effectively supports, promotes and markets the business community in such a way as to encourage economic development and job growth.
