Hundreds, if not thousands, of times a day in public places around the city, countless citizens, primarily men, openly [flout] a city ordinance — in other words, the law — and rudely spit, blind to social and health implications of such selfishly ignorant displays.
Without pride or self restraint, there is no way society will thrive. What a pity.
As a phenomenon I don’t know when spitting became acceptable. But once ensconced, it quickly became a big hit with the multitude of degradations assaulting a structure lost in a daze.
