Leroy “Caro” Armijo has gotten to like exposing his West Las Vegas cross country teams to the course at the annual Jemez Valley Invitational each fall.
“Our times were different this week,” he said. “But it’s a different course. It’s rugged. A lot of hills.”
“There’s one big hill, and if you don’t get out in front of it, you’ll get behind, and I don’t mean 100 yards behind. If you end up behind a slow runner, you end up losing a lot of time.”
