Adrian Valdez earned an “A” for accuracy on Monday.

Valdez went 5 for 5 at the plate and scored three runs to help West Las Vegas baseball win 16-8 at Santa Fe Indian.

The Dons are 4-3-1 under first-year head coach Ryan Gabaldon. All eight games have been played on the road.

“Overall a fair game,” Gabaldon said of Monday’s victory. “I still think we could do better. We could be a powerhouse if we play a complete game.”

Pancho Caro was 3 for 4 with three runs, Jose Juan Montaño and Andy Gabaldon both were 2 of 4 with a double apiece. Gilbert Garcia had a triple, and Sal Lopez, Diego Medina and Jake Ulibarri also had hits for West.

WLV softball won 12-1 at SFIS. The Lady Dons improved to 6-1 under Lucas Griego. No other information on the game was available as of late Monday.
