West Las Vegas snapped a four-year string of lopsided defeats in Vegas Bowl on Friday night with a virtuoso ground game and a shutdown defensive effort in the second half. The Dons took a 25-18 victory in one of the series’ more competitive games, giving their core group of seniors a huge reward for several years of trials..

“We were just tired of losing to Robertson,” said one of those seniors, quarterback Derek Gold. “We showed heart; we wanted it more. We did everything perfect. We moved the ball and we stopped them on defense.”
