Villanueva's Lucero in 10th at PRCA finals

Martin Lucero, originally from Villanueva, and his partner JoJo LeMond of Andrews, Texas, are in 10th place in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association national finals’ team roping competition.

The Lucero-LeMond duo posted a time of 10.5, trailing event leader Jake Stanley and Walt Woodard’s 4.1 as of Sunday.

Lucero currently lives in Stephenville, Texas, but retains strong family ties to the Las Vegas area.

The PRCA nationals are currently under way in Las Vegas, Nev.
