The victim in the crash involving the on-duty police officer says he’s still in pain but is doing better.
“I don’t know what will happen down the road,” Carl Montao said.
He suffered injuries to his neck, back and right side of the ribs.
Las Vegas police Officer Shawn Montoya was cited for failing to obey a stop sign while responding to an emergency Saturday morning. He struck the 1991 Buick Regal driven by Montao at Eighth Street and Lincoln Avenue.
Both men were treated at the local hospital and later released.
