Authorities arrested a Las Vegas man after he apparently tried to sell marijuana at Carnegie Library Park, officials said.
Ramon L. Flores, 22, 1025 Keen St., was charged with distribution of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to court documents, a confidential informant told agents from the Region 4 Narcotics Task Force that Flores was planning to sell a quarter pound of marijuana to a man around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Agents followed Flores from his Keen Street residence to Carnegie, when a man walked up to his car and entered it to begin the transaction, court records state. Then two agents approached and identified themselves, and they immediately noticed a plastic bag of marijuana in the back seat, according to the records.
Also, the agents saw more suspected marijuana and marijuana seeds spread out on the driver’s side floor board, court documents state. They then went to Flores’ house and found weighing scales, which indicated a marijuana-distribution operation, and more marijuana, officials said.
Mack Allingham, the task force’s commander, said his agency seized $1,000 worth of marijuana from Flores.
Flores’ bond was set at $10,000 cash-only.
Mayor Tony Marquez praised the task force for its work.
“Together, we can clean up Las Vegas of drugs and crime. Let’s take back our city through Neighborhood Watch and say no to drugs,” he said in a statement.
