Violent, property crime down

The city of Las Vegas had the highest murder rate in New Mexico in 2011, drawing a dubious distinction in the latest crime statistics released by the FBI this week.

The annual Crime in the United States 2011 report contains mixed news for Las Vegas. Overall, both violent and property crime in the city is down.
