Area veterans are invited to attend a special health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the VA Clinic located at 624 University Ave.
Veterans and their family members will have an opportunity to learn about many VA programs during the fair, including nine Healthy Living Messages.
“These messages include being tobacco- free, being involved in your health care, eating wisely, being physically active, limiting alcohol, striving for a healthy weight, being safe, managing stress and getting recommended screening tests and immunizations,” said Linda Daninger, Health Promotion Disease Prevention (HPDP) Program Manager for the New Mexico VA Health Care System.
VA Staff also will be on hand to help veterans enroll in the My HealtheVet program. My HealtheVet is the VA’s free, award-winning online Personal Health Record. My HealtheVet gives veterans information and access to VA-performed blood and urine test results, immunization records, appointments, and secure messaging.
Other health care information will be available during the Health Fair, including the Women’s Health Program, information for returning veterans, and the VA’s Chronic Disease Self Management (My CD) program.
For more information about the fair, call Linda Daninger at 505-265-1711, ext. 2625.
