UWC border trip was irresponsible

Referring to the front page article on April 4-5, I believe that taking United World College international students on a spring break field trip to pick up litter along the U.S./Mexico border in the Sonoran Desert was naïve and irresponsible on the part of those arranging and approving such a trip.

Those students could have surprised “immigrants” who were crossing with drugs, weapons, etc., resulting in a tragedy of terrible proportions and repercussions not only for UWC, but internationally.
