It’s great news that, after nearly six years, the West Las Vegas School District is finally in charge of its finances again. It’s something that Superintendent Ruben Cordova and the school board can be proud of.

Paul Aguilar, deputy secretary of finance and operations for the the state Public Education Department, delivered the news to the school board last week, calling it “an important milestone”  for the district.
