The fire in Arizona that we’ve been breathing and the one near Raton that led to the Zia gas-line shutoff are the two most pressing examples, but they’re only part of a super-intense wildfire season. The acreage burned so far this season is more than twice the 20-year average for New Mexico, and it’s not showing signs of letting up.
We need moisture, and plenty of it, and the sooner the better.
