Responding to criticism that the city was able to protect its landscaping investment but wasn’t letting residents do the same in their yards, Las Vegas city officials sought and obtained state Environment Department permission to allow citizens to purchase and use treated wastewater. The price is great — just a buck and a quarter for a thousand gallons — but the catch, for many people, is in how to get it home and store it until used.
