THUMBS UP! ECONOMIC SHOT IN THE ARM. The pending sale of the old Maloof building on Bridge Street could turn out to be a real plus for the overall development of the area — especially if the buyer, the Historic Kiva Theater Group, is able to incorporate the building into a triplex movie theater.

The Maloof building has significant historical meaning for Las Vegas, but it’s of little value unless used for something practical. Here’s hoping the building gets renovated and put to good use.
