TUCUMCARI — An eastern New Mexico teenager is facing two murder charges in the deaths of his adoptive mother and sister, state police said.
The 14-year-old boy was being held Tuesday night at the Quay County Juvenile Detention Center. The Associated Press is not identifying the teen because he is a juvenile.
A call came into to police before midnight Monday about shots fired at a home near Tucumcari. Officers arrived to find the bodies of 67-year-old Sue Day and her biological daughter, 49-year-old Sherry Folts.
