Highlands basketball player Chop Tang has been selected as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference-Baden Player of the Week for the RMAC West Division for his accomplishments in week five of the season.

Tang is the first Cowboy this season to earn such recognition.

Tang earned the honor after a strong weekend performance in the inaugural NMHU Thanksgiving Classic. In game one, a 106-75 win over Jarvis Christian, Tang put up 13 points, two rebounds, three assists and was seven for seven from the free throw line. It was on Nov. 28 against Angelo State University that Tang had a career performance for the Cowboys. Tang led all scorers with a career-high 44 points.

Tang also added eight rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocked shots in the Cowboys’ 109-100 win over the Rams.
