Last week, two presidential contracts were approved by the governing bodies of Luna Community College and New Mexico Highlands University. Luna President Pete Campos got a one-year extension to his contract and Highlands President Jim Fries has three more years. Campos is good through June 2014 and Fries through June 2016.
It’s no surprise there were stark differences between the public discussions about and the decisions made regarding each of their contracts. Campos and Fries are very different people, as are their bosses’ politics.
