Students celebrate holidays

It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas as local school kids sing old-time favorites like “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Christmas is a Time to Love.”

Students from Mike “Mateo” Sena, Don Cecilio Martinez and Sierra Vista elementary schools held their Christmas programs Thursday entertaining parents, relatives and friends with song and dance numbers.

After students in Sapello put on a stage show, they were treated to a table full of sandwiches, vegetables and plenty of goodies and treats.

Don Cecilio held its annual Christmas Carnival with Santa himself passing out presents to the wide-eyed youngsters. There were also all kinds of games and activities where the kids were having fun and winning small prizes.

The 21st Century after-school Christmas program was a big hit again this year with singing, dancing and a tribute to U.S. troops serving their country worldwide.
