State Silver Gloves champs crowned

When the smoke cleared after a full weekend of boxing at Crespin’s Gym, some 19 state Silver Gloves champions had been crowned.

State winners now advance to regional competition in early 2013.

Local boxing promoter and trainer Carlos Crespin organized the New Mexico Silver Gloves tournaments in his role as the state coordinator for the amateur youth boxing organization.

The tourneys took place Dec. 7-9 at his gym on West Valencia.
