State reps to face rivals in primary

Most state lawmakers will run unopposed this year, but that’s not the case with two area state representatives.

Tuesday was filing day for candidates for state and county offices.

District 70 state Rep. Richard Vigil, D-Ribera, is facing two opponents in the June 3 Democratic primary, Luna Community College purchasing agent Naomi Montoya and building contractor Travis Regensberg. Both had already publicly revealed their intentions.
