Realizing that it isn’t going to be able to meet its self imposed December deadline to adopt an oil and gas drilling ordinance, the San Miguel County Commission voted unanimously Tuesday to extend its drilling moratorium by six more months.
An ordinance extending the moratorium will be officially adopted during the Commission’s Dec. 10 meeting, after a public hearing is held. But the commission approved a measure that extends the moratorium immediately on an emergency basis.
