VAULT, an internationally acclaimed aerial dance company, is coming to Peñasco Theatre this Saturday and Sunday.

The brainchild of Amy Ell, a performance artist with more than 20 years of dance and theatre under her belt, VAULT tours nationally and internationally and challenges the conventions of contemporary dance.

VAULT’s newest piece, Thread, is an aerial dance performance featuring eight women exploring the boundaries of their limitations. The length of their white shimmering fabric takes over each of their lives in leading them nowhere – or just to the edge. Questions of when limitations begin and how they are imposed are central to this performance, as are revelations about how far you can stretch before you break loose. This minimalist performance is accompanied by a spellbinding score that intensifies both the frustration and faith inherent to unveiling personal limitation.

Show times for VAULT are 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.  Tickets are $15-$17 and may be purchased at the door.
