A second-half slump cost West Las Vegas in Wednesday night’s District 2-3A boys’ basketball contest with visiting Taos. The Tigers won 73-56 at Gillie Lopez Gym.
Taos led by as many as 12 in the first half, but the Dons finished the second quarter on a run and cut the gap to one on Pancho Caro’s foul shots with 22 seconds left. The Tigers led 39-35 at intermission.
West (7-13, 2-1) rebounded poorly in the third quarter and spotted Taos a 12-0 run that left the Tigers up 51-35.
