The Tri County Farmers Market opened Saturday in Plaza Park. People came out to shop for fresh food grown locally and handmade crafts. There were 23 vendors set up on the grassy area along the South end of the park, and even more vendors are expected in the coming weeks.
There were farmers supplying greens, roots vegetables, sprouts, honey and eggs. Some were also selling plant starts such as tomatoes and herbs. There were a variety of craft booths carrying soaps, wood carvings, wind chimes and children’s toys.
