The Meadow City’s own semiprofessional baseball team, the Las Vegas Train Robbers, will make its 2014 home debut Thursday evening against the Raton Osos.
First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Rodriguez Park.
D.J. Stinsman, a veteran of the independent baseball circuit with time as a player in the Frontier League as well as the Pecos League, is the field manager for the Robbers. Stinsman succeeds Casey Dill, now the skipper for the Sonoma Stompers in California.
The return home figures to be a welcome one.
